Lucy de Barbaro 3/15/2019 1:01 PMI wonder if homeowners and renters out there are aware that average household in our state contributes 11 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere annually, just from electricity and gas (or other fuel) usage in the home. What to do with that info? Tackle actions that help to reduce these two components! -
Lucy de Barbaro 3/14/2019 4:13 AMMaking great garden cleanup progress. It would not have been possible if the weather did not finally break, and some warmth did not come. Few plants poking from the ground already :) -
Lucy de Barbaro 3/10/2019 4:13 AMI'm very happy to see that "Make Smart Home Upgrades" is one of the 5 resources available to I Am Sustainable challenge participants under "Energy" and... it does lead to CCI's website! -
Lucy de Barbaro 3/03/2019 1:04 PMI am lucky to be located close to Frick Environmental Center and the best outdoor experience place in Pittsburgh: Falls Ravine Trail. This week, work took me to FEC - we were planning and delivering materials for the incoming Energy Efficiency Fair, to be held on 3/10 in the afternoon. It is a joint event of Conservation Consultants, Inc., and Pittsburgh Park Conservancy, where people can learn how to improve their home's efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. More info at www.getenergysmarter.org/events.
On my daily walks in this part of the park, I found juncos, white-throated sparrows, red-winged black bird, yellow-shafted flicker, downy woodpecker, pileated woodpecker, carolina warbler, winter wren, grey titmouse and some finches. What a place!
