The challenge has made me more aware of the things about my energy use that I cannot control due to living in an apartment. For instance, I cannot  control the heat in my unit. I had accepted this and at times have to open my windows in the winter to keep my apartment at a comfortable temperature, which I know is a waste of energy! I have since contacted my landlord to come up with a solution that is more sustainable.
