Casie Shepard 3/19/2019 5:38 AMI wanted to share with everyone that I was honored to attend a wonderful event last night in McKees Rocks at the Ryan Arts Center for The Steel Chef Cook-Off which is a Focus on Renewal Program, partnering with Sustainable Pittsburgh! The food was AMAZING, with wonderful vegetarian, vegan and the like appetizers created by local chefs that are Sustainable Pittsburgh partners that we were able to taste prior to the event starting. If I remember correctly, the event was going to shoot for zero waste! I invite others to look into this program that attracts local youth with area chefs to learn cooking skills, culinary skills, food safety along with job training. -
Casie Shepard 3/15/2019 1:25 PMI did not click that I did this activity, as I needed to spend at least 20 minutes advocating for greener vehicles at my university, but I emailed my advisor at Duquesne University to gain more information on where I need to look for green initiatives that the school is doing. Hopefully I will find good news that I can share with everyone! -
